You only have 18 summers to make the memories your kids will remember for a lifetime. Use that vacation time, and make every summer count. Summer School registration is open starting June 17–June 25, and on the first day of Summer School (July 6). Students and their parent or guardian should register by emailing the summer school remote learning site they plan to attend. Emancipated students do not need a guardian to register. Once you start your Summer Seminar application, you will NOT have the ability to save and continue your application at a later date. Please make sure you have all the required information before starting your application. We also recommend you use a cell phone number and email address that you check often so you don’t miss any communication from our Admissions team.
Application Requirements:
- Congressional district
- Class rank and size
- Grade Summary
You will be asked to complete a checklist of classes you have taken with your grades from those classes. If you are currently enrolled those classes, you should provide an estimated grade. - Personal Statement
A 1000-character limit essay answering 'Why are you interested in attending the Naval Academy Summer Seminar?, Have you received any awards (STEM-related [science, technology, engineering, math], leadership, etc.), or been involved with any activities, groups, conferences in these mentioned areas?'
Please do not mail additional items to the Academy (transcripts, letter of recommendations) that are not required.
Summer 18
Summer Seminar is highly competitive program with a limited number of spaces (approximately 850) available per session.
Selection is based on the overall qualification of the student. Students will be notified of their status via email no later than April 15.
The following selection criteria are considered for Summer Seminar:

- A current junior in high school
- Superior high school academic performance
- Demonstrated achievement in athletics and extracurricular activities
- Physically fit and in good health
- Unmarried, not pregnant, and no legal obligation to support a child, children or other individual(s)

Note: U.S. Citizenship is not a requirement for Summer Seminar, however candidates must have a Social Security Number to apply. Candidates seeking an appointment to the Naval Academy would need to be U.S. Citizens by the time they are inducted into the Brigade of Midshipmen.

Summer 1866
Out-of-area campers will be responsible for arranging transportation to and from Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI). Once campers arrive, buses and midshipmen will be on-hand to transport campers from BWI to the Naval Academy and back to BWI upon program completion.
